#GDP265 A Curvy Birthday

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by to see what I’ve created for the #GDP265 Challenge. This time I’ve used the new early release Quite Curvy Bundle to create a curvy birthday card.

Introducing the new Quite Curvy Bundles

Christmas has come early this year with the early release of the Quite Curvy Bundle from the January-June 2021 mini catalogue. You can also purchase the coordinating Curvy Christmas stamp set and Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper. These special Christmas offerings are only available until 4th January 2021 and can also be purchased separately. You can purchase all of the products in the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle at a 10% discount. If you’d like just the Quite Curvy Bundle this is also an option with a 10% discount.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this set. It has some gorgeous border dies and the variety of stamps that follow the curves of the dies means this set is going to be very versatile.

#GDP265 Challenge

Today I’m playing along with the Global Design Project #265 | Color Challenge (#GDP265). I had so much fun with the last challenge I entered with the Global Design Project I couldn’t wait to do another one. When I saw the colour scheme for this one I definitely had to join in!

This week’s challenge is to use Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and a colour of my choice to create my design.

#GDP265 Challenge Colour Scheme

Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and Highland Heather create a curvy birthday

I adore the combination of blues and purples so when looking for inspiration for my third colour for this challenge I couldn’t go past the purples department. Highland Heather fits in perfectly with the Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate to create a striking colour palette.

So here’s my finished design. I decided to go with a trifold card with layers showcasing all three colours. I stamped the “made with love…” sentiment with Highland Heather onto a Coastal Cabana cardstock banner. I also stamped the small leaf onto the Smoky Slate layer. The birds are stamped in Smoky Slate and then coloured using a water painter and all three colours’ ink pads.

For the other sentiment I decided to do tone on tone in Coastal Cabana, and was able to stamp it so that only the hooray shows when the card is closed. Upon opening up the first fold you find…

… the full sentiment and some more birds. I also stamped the small branch in Smoky Slate and used the water painter again to colour it with Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather.

Opening the second fold reveals the inside of the card with another bird and a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set.

So there you have it, one Curvy Birthday card in three beautiful colours. I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at my design and that it inspires you to start creating something new.
