Hello and welcome to The Stampin Gumnut!
Let me tell you a bit about little old me. I’m Nerida, wife to Rowan and mum of our beautiful daughter Sorcha. We live in beautiful South West Victoria, Australia.
I work full time at our local water corporation and love to do craft activities outside work hours any chance I get. Papercrafting (especially cards), knitting, sewing and cross stitching are all right up my alley! There are never enough hours in the day for all the ideas and plans swirling through my brain.
I’ve been doing something crafty since I was taught how to do French Knitting as a little girl. I eventually learned how to knit (causing a great conundrum for my mum trying to teach me how to do it left-handed), sew and follow counted cross stitch patterns, all inspired by my mum. And then I came back from my school trip to China and wanted a way to display some of the photos I’d taken, and the birth of my obsession with paper based creations was born. It started with scrapbooking before moving on to birthday cards and beyond. I’d always made my own cards for my loved ones in the past on the computer but then I fell in love with creating handmade cards. Over time I’ve learnt many techniques and tips and I continue to find new things and designs every day – thanks Pinterest!
I have loved Stampin’ Up! products for years after being introduced to them by a friend of my mum who was a demonstrator at the time. I loved the way the products came together and coordinated with each other as well as the awesome product quality and range variety. I joined Stampin’ Up! up in 2020 to get the demonstrator discount for myself after finding myself yet again with a massive wish list and a horrified husband. I’ve been inspired to give blogging a go to share my creations and hopefully provide some tutorials and inspiration ideas to others who may come across it just as I have been by others. From there, who knows! Let’s see where this journey takes us.
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know a bit about me. Feel free to reach out for a chat so I can get to know you too! And if you have any questions about any techniques or Stampin’ Up! products please contact me at any time.
